はじめまして その２ Hajime mashite No.2

yuiと同じく、今年度ブログチームに加わったCossyです！

出張中のGOIちゃんに代わって先に登場させていただきました～。

Hi!

I'm Cossy, a new member of the JF blog team this year.

I'm going to introduce myself instead of Goi who has been away on business trip.

私は、なんといっても夏・海・旅行が大好きです！

高校時代から休みのたびにいろんな国に旅行していましたが、

中でも大学2年の時以来はまっているのが南太平洋の島々ですっ！

海はきれいだし、常夏だし、なんといっても人の温かさが良いんですよねぇ・・・。

There are three things I like: summer, beach and traveling!

I've been to many different countries since high school, and among all those countries, I'm especially fond of South Pacific Island countries.

I fell in love with the beautiful ocean and sunshine when I first visited Fiji and Tonga in 2007, and I was also very amazed by their hospitality and friendliness.

この前の週末は、在日サモア人コミュニティの人たちと一緒に、福島県双葉町の住民の方々が避難している

埼玉県加須市の避難所を訪れ、サモアのダンスを披露してきました。

（↑ちなみに写真の女性はCossyではありません）

一緒にダンスをしたり、拍手で盛り上げてくださる双葉町の方々の笑顔で、逆に私の方が元気づけられました。

この出会いを大切に、また皆さんに会いに行けたらと思います。

Last Sunday, I visited Kisai High school in Kazo City, Siatama where the Futaba-town evacuees are moved, with the Samoan Community in Japan. We performed Samoan dance and songs in front of the people of Futaba. They, including the mayor warmly welcomed us. As we danced and clapped our hands together, I was very encouraged by their cheerful smiles. I hope they also enjoyed our performance, and hopefully I can visit them again in the near future.

さてさて、少しお仕事のお話をしますと、私はyuiと同じく入社2年目で、日米センターという部署で働いています。

日米センターの英名は略して"CGP"。

日米センターは、日米間のNPOや大学、研究機関による共同事業に資金を助成したり、将来の日米関係を担う大学生や日系アメリカ人をグループで日本に招いたり、アメリカ各地の学校や図書館で日本紹介を行う草の根コーディネーターを派遣したり・・・ここには書ききれないくらいいろいろな事業を行っています。

今回は説明すると長くなるので、それぞれの事業の詳細は、後日改めて紹介していきたいと思いますっ！

By the way, let me talk a little bit about what I do at JF. Just like yui, this is my second year at JF, and I work at "the Center for Global Partnership ", CGP.

CGP has various programs such as Grant Program, Japan Travel Program for U.S. Future Leaders, and Japan Outreach Initiative in which we place about five outreach coordinators to the Southern and Mid-Western part of the U.S. who will make presentations in local schools and communities.

I don't think I can introduce all programs today, so I'll write more about them sometime later!

みなさん、はじめまして！

2011年度ブログチームメンバーのyuiです。

今回から新生ブログチームで情報発信していきます。

I'm Yui in new blog team for 2011.

We will be reporting news and stories to you this year☆

さて、まずは自己紹介から･･･ということで、

改めまして、2011年度ブログチームメンバーになりましたyuiです。

所属部署は東京本部、総務部総務課、入社2年目です。

一口に総務課のお仕事といっても、ハードなものからソフトなものまで

いろいろあります。

たとえば、本部ビルの管理、文書管理、防災対応、などなど。

But first let me introduce myself...

I'm Yui, this is the second year since I joined the Japan Foundation,

and I work at General affairs devision at Tokyo headquarters.

There are varieties of works at general affairs devision.

For example, managing our headquarter building, managing official documents of the organization,

emergency and disaster control etc...

昨年の内部からのお問合せ電話で、びっくり度No.1だったのは、

Last year the funniest inquiry from other section was...

「トランシーバーはありますか？」

"Do you have wireless transceiver?"

えぇっ！？

驚く私をよそに総務課のキャビネにはちゃっかりトランシーバーが。

このトランシーバー、ホールで催されたイベントで使われたそうです。

（なるほど！）

What!?

Yes there were transceivers in the cabinet.

He needed it for the event held at the event hall downstairs (I see!).

日々オドロキの連続の総務課ライフですが、

国際交流基金全体の事業の様子がわかる、とても刺激的な部署でもあります。

組織としての国際交流基金が感じられるお仕事なのですね！

Days of General affairs section (Soumu-ka in Japanese) is full of surprises,

but it is also stimulating section to be able to see the inside of entire organization.

I am feeling the organizational side of the Japan Foundation everyday.

最後におまけ。

One picture to end my first post.

今、私のデスクまわりにはこんな箱庭がついています。

I have this miniature garden at my desk right now.

リボンがついているのは原宿で買ったオブジェ。

（実は他の動物たちはペンなのですよ！）

原宿って本当に不思議なものがいっぱい売っていて

おもしろい！奥深い！です。

これからこのブログで国際交流基金事業に加えて、

日本で流行っているもの・注目されているものを

たくさんリポートしたいと思います。

The one with the ribbon is a doll I got at Harajuku.

(Other animals are actually color pens!)

Harajuku is always full of mysterious and weird things

and thus very interesting! and deep in many ways.

I would like to introduce not only the Japan Foundation activities

but also hip and trendy things in Japan right now so stay tuned!

ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ開幕！Venice Biennale Japanese Pavilion just opened!

みなさんこんにちは！今年でブログ記者は卒業になってしまうmioです。

新しいメンバーの自己紹介がもうすぐ始まる予定なのですが、

その前に、最後に速報をお伝えしたくてまた登場しました。

いよいよ第54回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレが開幕し、日本館の展示も始まりました！

Hi every one! This is going to be my last blog but I would like to send all of you

the latest news from Venice Biennale Japanese Pavilion which has just opened!

一般公開までの間は、ヴェルニサージュと呼ばれています。その最終日の様子です。

I just got pictures from Venice at the last day before public opening.

この期間は世界中から多くの人がヴェネチアにつめかけます！

It seems many people are already at Venice from all over the world!

日本館に入ろうと列を作るみなさん…。
