ついに始まりましたー！ 「Media/Art Kitchen – Realty
Distortion Field」展がインドネシア・ジャカルタのギャラリー・ナショナル・インドネシアで昨夜幕を切りました！ ぱちぱち×400。なんで「400」かって？ 観客・マスコミが約400人来たからです！ そして、基金の小川所長とトゥバグース・ギャラリー・ナショナル館長により開幕が告げられると一斉に会場に突入！
It’s finally begun! Exhibition “Media/Art
Kitchen – Reality Distortion Field”just opened its doors last night at the Galeri
Nasional Indonesia, in Jakarta, welcoming about 400 visitors and media in
total. As soon as the opening remarks were made by director Ogawa from the
Japan Foundation and the Galeri Nasional Indonesia director Mr. Tubagus, the people
rushed into the venue all together!
さて、この展覧会は日本アセアン友好40周年事業として日本と東南アジアのメディアアートを紹介するもので、日本・インドネシア・フィリピン・シンガポール・ベトナムの15作家が出品しているのですが、この展覧会を企画しているキュレーターもまた7か国13人もいるのです！ ちょっとすごい数ですが、ここに「国際交流」基金の力こぶが感じられるじゃないですか。ちなみにこの展覧会は、インドネシア最大の国際ビデオフェスティバル「OKビデオ‐ジャカルタ国際ビデオフェスティバル」と共催で行っており、しかも、2013年ジャカルタ・ジャパン祭りの認定事業でもあるのです。
Well,
this exhibition, in commemoration of the 40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship
and Cooperation in 2013, introduces media
art from Japan and Southeast Asia, participated by 15 artists/groups of Japan,
Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, and a total of 13 curators from
7 countries!
Having these stunning figures, this project is
really representing “international exchange,” I think! This exhibition, co-hosted
by Indonesia’s largest international video festival OK. Video - Jakarta
International Video Festival, is accredited by the JAK-JAPAN MATSURI 2013, too. 
オープニングの後には作家・堀尾寛太氏等によるライブパフォーマンスも実施。点滅するランプの明かりの下で堀尾寛太氏がさまざまな動くモノを創り上げていくパフォーマンスは、まるでパラパラ漫画のような不思議な視覚体験を観客に提供するのでした。
Following the reception, the artists including Kanta Horio gave a live performance. Mr. Horio created various physical phenomena under the blinking lights. And just like a flip book, it offered us a very unique visual experience.
