さあ今回は先日ご紹介した茨城でのダンスワークショップの新宿バージョンのご報告です。
Today I'll report a dance workshop in Shinjuku, which is a part of the workshop series also held in Ibaraki.
いわずとしれた韓流の街、新宿区大久保地区。
でもこの地域には韓国以外のたくさんの国籍の方が住んでいるのをご存知ですか？
そんな大久保地区にすむ、いろいろな国にルーツをもつたくさんの子どもたちがダンスをしに大久保地域センターに集まってくれました。
Ookubo, a famous Korean town, is located in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
You might imagine most of the residents there are Koreans, but actually many residents with different cultural backgrounds are living together in Ookubo.
Many teenagers from various ethnic backgrounds joined us to dance for fun!
子どもたちのなかには教会でダンスをやっているよ、という子たちも。とっても上手です。
一方でダンスははじめてだよ！という子もいました。
前回も教えてくれたTAKESABUROさんとGANさん、教え方がとても丁寧なので初心者の子たちもどんどん巻き込んでいきます。
Some of the children regularly dance at their churches, and they're very skilled and cool!
Of course there were beginners, too.
Dancers who joined this program as instructors were same as Ibaraki, TAKESABURO and GAN.
Their way of teaching is easy to understand for even beginners, so all the children were drawn to the workshop.
ワークショップの最後には、TAKESABUROさんとじゃんけんして勝ち残った人にこの日使った曲のCDをプレゼント！ということで俄然盛り上がる子どもたち。
At the end of the workshop, we had a game to win the CD that we used at the workshop. Everyone got most enthusiastic through the whole workshop, probably. lol
結果はというと、、
後ろからお兄さん、お姉さんを見学していた小学校低学年の女の子が勝利しました。
無欲というのは最強です。笑

Nothing can beat selflessness! haha!
約2時間のワークショップが終わった後も
「まだ踊りたい！」
と元気いっぱいの子どもたち。
After 2-hour workshop, children still wanted to dance, so didn't leave the gym.
“I want to dance more!”, everybody said.
They ARE very young and energetic!!
GANさんは「俺がもうだめだわ～」と音をあげていました。笑
GAN was worn out already, saying "no way, I can't." haha
ダンスはひとつのアートフォームでありながら、
ことばや道具がなくても、一緒に楽しめるしわかりあえるコミュニケーションツールでもあると思います。
しかも、そのコミュニケーションはその参加者や場所、環境、音楽、いろんな要素によって全然違ったかたちをもちます。
While dance is one of art forms, it is a communication tool that needs only your feeling and body but neither words nor equipment.
And the form of the communications is very flexible, depending on various factors such as members, places, environments, music, etc.
茨城と大久保、2回のワークショップは先生は同じですが、参加した子どもたち、ワークショップをやった場所、使った音楽、周りの環境、いろんなものが違っていました。
2回ともとても和やかな雰囲気でよいワークショップだったことは同じですが、その内容や熱気の感じはやっぱり少しずつ違っていたと思います。
そこが、ダンスのおもしろいところであり、すてきなところなんじゃないかなとこのワークショップを通じて思いました。
Talking about these two workshops in Ibaraki and Ookubo, we experienced different children, venues, music, environments and so forth.
Both were good workshops in a friendly and cheerful mood, but steps, the expression of excitement and enthusiasm varied somehow.
And I thought such difference and flexibility are the very reason why dance is interesting and attractive.
